The Indian Government is making several efforts to make the
Energy and Power Sector Energy and Energy Efficient. To reduce power
consumption, The Government has planned to increase the use of LED bulbs and
Tube lights. Under this scheme, the Government will provide the LED bulb, Tube
light and Fan on the Petrol Pumps, Post Office, Grocery Stores and Power Offices
in next Month.
This scheme has been started with select Gasoline Pumps in
Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. Gradually, These Electric Power Plants will be
available on all Petrol Pumps across the Country.
The implementing of Energy Effectant Projects, the head of Managing
Director, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), Saurabh Kumar said that
LED products are being supplied from the Post Offices in Madhya Pradesh,
Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand and Bihar. In some states, they were made
available in Grocery Stores in remote areas as well.
50,000 Led Bulbs will be available on
Petrol Pumps
Kumar said that recently EESL's agreement with public sector
petroleum companies has been reached. Under this, the sale centers of LED bulbs
and tube lights will be opened at around 50,000 petrol pumps across the country
so that these products can be easily made available to the general public.
Lights and Fans Will be Available at
Low Cost
EESL is providing LED bulb and Tube Light under Ujala
scheme. In this, the Nine-Watt LED bulb will be available at Rs 70, 20-Watt
Tube Light at 220 Rupees, and 50-Watt Energy Efficient Fan Rs 1,200. From
September this will start on some petrol pumps in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh
and in next 4 to 6 months it will be available on petrol pump across the
country.
